Davison Avenue Drama Club Shines in 'Annie KIDS'

The Davison Avenue fourth and fifth grade Drama Club brought theater to life on May 15 and 16, staging three high-energy performances of ‘Annie KIDS’ for fellow students, families and community members at the Howard T. Herber Middle School auditorium. Following weeks of district-wide anticipation—marked by the school’s "Red Wednesdays" campaign—the young performers captured the hearts of students, staff and families.
The production featured a demanding three-show schedule designed to share the students' hard work with multiple audiences. The first two performances were staged exclusively for fellow students, filling the auditorium with peer support and school spirit. The theatrical run culminated in a Saturday afternoon performance for families, friends and community members, which played to a sold-out audience.
The success of the show was a true collaborative effort. Beyond the stellar vocal and theatrical performances of the cast, student crew members managed backstage transitions and assisted with set design, costuming and choreography. The community-wide momentum built up over the last month was palpable as the final curtain fell to an enthusiastic standing ovation from the Malverne community.
The district extends its deepest gratitude to the Board of Education, administrators, faculty directors, dedicated parents and the entire Malverne community for supporting the arts and celebrating the remarkable achievements of these talented students.
